1. Scope and contact
This policy covers the AeroDisplay Mac and iPad apps and this website. The AeroDisplay developer can be contacted at [email protected] for support and privacy requests.
2. Your display, audio, and input
AeroDisplay processes the display you select, Mac system audio when enabled, and touch, keyboard, pointer, or Apple Pencil input used to control the Mac. These are processed on your devices and transmitted to the device you pair with.
The core display session does not upload this content to an AeroDisplay server or route it through an AeroDisplay cloud relay. AeroDisplay does not intentionally save a recording of your screen or audio as part of normal streaming. Content is held temporarily in memory for capture, transmission, decoding, and playback.
If you choose a VPN or another remote-network service, that provider carries your connection under its own terms. Your content may be visible to anyone with physical or authorized access to either device.
3. Device and pairing information
The apps use an installation identifier, device name, local network addresses, connection details, saved hosts, and display or interaction preferences to discover devices, reconnect, and maintain your setup. Saved hosts and preferences are stored locally. Pairing secrets and trust credentials are stored in the system Keychain; a local preferences fallback may retain the installation identifier when needed.
Connections between paired devices are encrypted using TLS. Keep pairing QR codes and device credentials private. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.
4. Permissions you control
- Screen Recording on Mac: captures the selected display for streaming and system audio when enabled.
- Accessibility on Mac: enables remote touch, keyboard, and Apple Pencil control.
- Local Network on iPad: enables discovery and communication with your Mac.
- Camera on iPad: scans a pairing QR code. Camera images are not uploaded to an AeroDisplay server.
You can revoke permissions in your operating system settings. Features that depend on a permission may stop working when it is revoked.
5. Purchases and Apple services
Optional Pro purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. The app checks verified purchase entitlements to unlock features and restore purchases. We do not receive your payment-card information.
Apple may process purchase, device, or diagnostic information under its own policies and your device settings. See Apple’s privacy information. AeroDisplay does not require a separate AeroDisplay account.
6. Diagnostics and support messages
Local diagnostic logs may contain connection timing, performance counters, error messages, device names, and network addresses. They are used to investigate technical problems. This version has no integrated advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDK, and it does not automatically upload these local logs to an AeroDisplay support server.
If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to share. These are processed by the support mailbox provider, Google/Gmail, and used to answer your request. Review logs or screenshots before sending them; never share pairing secrets or payment-card details.
7. Website hosting and cookies
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request times, browser information, and security-related request metadata to deliver and protect the website. Cloudflare processes this information under its privacy policy and the hosting service configuration.
We have not embedded advertising trackers, third-party analytics, remote fonts, or a sign-up form. Language selection is provided through separate page URLs. Security or essential cookies may be used by the hosting provider if the relevant features are enabled. Following an external link, such as an App Store or Apple Support link, is subject to that service’s policies.
8. Retention and deletion
Streaming buffers are temporary and are reset or released when sessions end. Local preferences and saved host information remain until you remove them, reset the app, or the operating system removes them. Keychain entries or operating-system backups may outlast an app uninstall.
Use the saved-host controls or Reset to Factory Defaults to remove local host records and preferences. Contact us for help with remaining pairing credentials. Support messages are retained as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations; you may request deletion of information you sent. Apple transaction records and Cloudflare-managed logs follow their providers’ retention rules.
9. Your choices and rights
You can stop a session, disable system audio, revoke device permissions, remove saved hosts, and manage purchases through Apple. If applicable law provides access, correction, deletion, restriction, or other privacy rights, contact [email protected] to make a request. We may need enough information to verify a request and locate support correspondence. We cannot retrieve screen content that was never uploaded to us.
10. Children and updates
AeroDisplay is a general-purpose productivity app and is not designed to solicit children’s personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact us.
We may update this policy when features or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected here and, where appropriate, communicated in the app.
